Learning Resources Display Center

From Professional Reference Services

What is the LRDC?

LACOE's Learning Resources Display Center (LRDC) is a "Full Center," which means that curriculum publishers will provide all core materials being considered for adoption by the State Board. Publishers furnish samples of kits, manipulatives, and technology-based materials which may be sampled. All submitted items are inventoried and displayed within 10 days of publishers submission deadline. Publishers materials displayed in LRDCs are not circulated so that all materials will be available for districts and educators to review.

What resources are available?

In addition to curriculum materials, the LRDC maintains copies of curriculum standards, frameworks and adoption-related documents including: Publishers' Invitation to Submit, submission lists, catalogs, public comment forms, and publishers price lists. LRDCs also maintain instructional materials funding information, CDE letters, committee reports and press releases in order to better serve educators and the general public.

When can I visit?

Learning Resources Display Center is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Many districts visit the center as a group to make purchase decisions. We encourage visits and appreciate appointments to review materials because of space availability.
