Library Cards and Circulation Policy
From Professional Reference Services
All permanent employees of the Los Angeles County Office of Education or any public school district in Los Angeles County are eligible for library cards.
Elegibility can by verified by:
- Any identification showing name and school district (e.g. ID card, health insurance card, paycheck stub, etc.)
- Verbal identification by authorized person at school or district office.
The following materials may be checked out for a period of three weeks unless otherwise marked. Six items may be checked out at any one time.
- Books
The following materials are available for use only in the Reference Center.
- Journals
- Reference Books
- Instructional Materials
Circulating materials may be checked out and renewed in person or by telephone. Circulating materials for which there is no other request may be renewed up to three times.
Materials may be returned in person or through County Office courier service (JET courier). Materials returned by JET courier are the responsibility of the patron until they are received by the library.
Please address all material you are returning JET courier to:

Overdue notices will be issued for those materials not returned or renewed by the due date. A patron receiving three notices on an overdue item will not be allowed to check out other material until the overdue item is returned or paid for.
Patrons will be billed for lost items at the current replacement cost plus $10.00 processing and handling fee.
Material borrowed from the Reference Center is the responsibility of the patron whose card is used to check out the materials. For your protection, please report lost or stolen cards immediatley.
